Anyone who has been reading this blog for a while, or knows our family directly knows that we are involved in St. Louis Amateur Theater. In 2007, we worked on several major productions. In most of the productions, every single person in our family was involved, even Rachel at 5-6 years old!
Two of the projects we worked on last year were eligible to be nominated for the 2007 "Arts for Life" awards that are given out each year for excellence in St. Louis Amateur Theater. As it turns out, these two shows together were nominated for 11 awards!
Now, hold on to something, because here comes the great part of this - as if 11 nominations weren't enough! My wife, Dianne, received a nomination herself for her role as "Tumnus" in our fall 2007 production of "Narnia - The Musical!" This show was produced by our church's theater group, and received a total of 6 nominations. If you look back to here, you can now see what you missed! Click here for Dianne's nomination announcement on the "Arts for Life" website.
Also, if you know anything about the Narnia story, then by now you have probably put together the fact that my wife is nominated for an award in which she played a half-goat, hairy topless man! Oh, yeah, can you feel the sex appeal?
Anyway, congratulations on your nomination, Dianne. I told you that you did a great job!
The othershow we were involved in received 5 nominations and was a Bravo Theater Group production of "Godspell." Click here for the page on this show. If you look closely, you can find both my wife and oldest daughter in the pictures on this page!
Now that you are all giddy about what we did last year, it's probably a good time to announce this fall's musical at my church:
Please bookmark the production's website here for audition and ticket information. That's right, you can even be a part of something fantastic! We are looking for actors, dancers, technical people, costumes, etc. It usually takes about 150 people to put on these productions. Why don't you become one of them?

Bravo, Dianne! And may I add that your vocal performance was among the TOP.
from "a fan" :)

Congrats Dianne! Anyone who can play a half boy/goat and still be beautiful deserves an award! I'm really not surprised you were nominated- you did a fabulous job!
