Your Car is a Filthy Embarrassment - But I have the Fix!

Let’s face it. Your car is dirty. Filthy, even.  It’s embarrassing, really.  But with gas prices still kind of high, and the high price of the gas station car washes, who wants to spend money on a car wash?

Not me!

Then, once you are at home and comfortable, you sure don’t want to have to get all the supplies out, get all hot and dirty and wash the car yourself, do you?

Not me!

Well, I have the solution for you.  This is really big.  This is so big that I’m dedicating today’s space just to tell you about it.

Our church is hosting a Random Acts of Kindness car wash TOMORROW, Saturday August 9th.

Here’s the important part:

IT IS FREE!!! TOTALLY FREE!!!

This isn’t one of those bait and switch car washes where the signs say free, but there is a “donation station” at the end, either.  Nope. It is really and truly free.  Here is the important point: we will not accept donations of any kind.  I’m serious here, no donations.  Of course, if you want stay and wash other people’s cars, I would think that would be OK.  We’ve been doing this for years, now.  In fact, this is our 10th annual car wash.  At least once, someone has thrown money out the window when they left.  They had a little trouble with the free concept. Don't have trouble.  It's FREE!!!!

Here are the salient details:

Where: Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, 5252 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63126 (the old Target store).  We are right next to Incredible Pizza.  In fact, they are our tenant...go visit them, too! (They aren't free, BTW)  What?  You're not from St. Louis?  Well, get ye here pronto! Also, bring your dirty car with you! (click on the Christ Memorial link above to get a map)

When:  Saturday, August 9th, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Cost:  IT’S FREE. NO DONATIONS ACCEPTED!!! Haven’t I emphasized this enough?

The catch:  There is no catch.  Nothing. The whole point is that we are going to do something nice and completely undeserved for you.  This is one way we demonstrate God’s love for all people. Curious?  Show up and test us!  It’s free! No catch!

I’ll probably be there most of the day, taking pictures for future promotion of the car wash.  Come say “hi!”

Nuts!!! I hate washing my car and would gladly pay someone else to do it, so to get someone to do it for free just boggles the mind, unfortunately I am several thousand miles away!!!

OK, I haven't been to South County in forever, I didn't realize Target wasn't there anymore. South County used to be like my 2nd home during high school..all my friends lived out there.. Now, I honestly can't tell you when the last time I was on that portion of Lindbergh.
