Last year, I wrote about our beautiful Christmas tree. So, I understand that I don't need to do THAT again! Last night on twitter, a few of us were trading Christmas Tree stories. I think I may have started it, because I sent some "tweets" about how we were decorating our tree and dining room. I shared some photos, as well (included in this post, now).
This year, the timing worked out so that I was actually able to be home for the decorating of the tree Monday night. We made an event out of it by having some chips and dip, cut fruit, cheese and crackers, a few Christmas cookies and some wine! If you read last year's post, you can get the info behind a few of our ornaments. Nearly 100% of our ornaments relate to something we do in our "normal" life, or have some special significance to an event or person. There are now very few of the original ornaments we bought to complement the colors when we designed the tree 16 years ago! We have also had problems maintaining the amber lights, so they are now the slightly brighter GOLD color.
Even some of the smaller ribbons on the tree are ribbons that came from various packages and gifts. We have enough ornaments to totally cover two trees, nearly, but the space for only one, so ornaments are rotated from year to year. Enjoy the pictures from our decorating last night! Many of them you can click on for large versions.
In this shot, you can see some of our snacks and cheese chunks!
Closer shot of the tree with ornaments on!
Christmas tree in it's final place in the room. All done!
Finally, a wide shot of the dining room. Note that the dollhouse (Dianne built this during the summer this year) even has Christmas lights - functioning - around the top of the house. It also has its own Christmas Tree inside. I'll feature the dollhouse once I know the decorating is done on it!

The photo of your daughters hanging ornaments is strikingly simple and beautiful-- very nice work!

Great pictures.
We've given our boys an ornament each year that had some meaning to them...an accomplishment, hobby, or milestone. A few years ago I got a shoebox for each boy and started segregating their ornaments. The plan is as each decides to have their own tree, they'll get their ornaments and have a good start on the decorating.
