This past weekend, we made a trip out to the Laumeier Sculpture Park. This is a large, mostly outdoor, sculpture park in South St. Louis County - just inside the ring of safety! (I-270 - beyond which the GPS stops working, the edge of the world sneaks up on you and there are SEA MONSTERS!)
This place can be a photographer's dream during early morning or late afternoon. We were there late afternoon, and the shadows and back-lighting were FUN to play with!
This is the iconic sculpture at the center of the park...in pretty much the iconic view. EVERYONE who's been to the park has a picture just exactly like this one. I still couldn't resist, such is the power of this sculpture! Everyone doesn't have a website, though!
My favorite this trip to the park. I don't remember seeing this sculpture before, but it is cool - AND creepy - in a Tim Burton Nightmare Before Christmas kind of way. By the way, this is REAL lens flare people! Not that artificial kind that's so popular with the kids these days. It's actually kind of hard to create with modern lenses and their space-age coatings. I may have burned my retinas out taking this picture. I hope you appreciate it!

Aloha from Upcountry Maui!

Happy WW!
