I was -8 years old, so I remember nothing. My big space-related "remember where you were" event was the Challenger disaster. I was in elementary school. They rolled televisions into our classrooms. It was my friend Casey's birthday.

I was away at camp that week. I remember all the counselors talking about it, and we had some kind of activity involving space--it was either skits or some type of costume contest.

I'm laughing, we must be of a similar age

I remember watching it on the B&W television with the family, we were all so excited! I also remember running back and forth to the neighbors house and watching some of it with them. I didn't think of using red plastic to make the pictures colored. I also remember laying out on the lawn that night, gazing at the moon and straining to see the astronauts.

My memory of the moon landing is that my best friend and I were at the playground with the "big kids" (our older siblings) and we had to leave the park to go home to watch the moon landing. I was not happy and have still not gotten over it.
