A couple of weeks ago, after returning from our trip to Eckert's (the subject of this Wordless Wednesday. And this one, too!), it was overcast and started to rain. Frequently, when this happens, I head outside - risking our non-waterproof Nikon SLR - to get pictures of flower blooms in the perfectly even lighting and water droplets the weather so graciously provides!
Unfortunately, I never remember the names of the flowers, but the ones shown below make up borders in our front yard flower garden. The bright blue flowers REALLY ARE THAT BRIGHT. This little plant was one of the lone survivors from the summer heat, but when a whole row of them was in bloom, you could hardly look at them they were so vivid. It was like a pile of blue LED Christmas lights. Enjoy!
All photos taken with a Nikon D60, and the inexpensive 18-55mm kit lens that comes with it.
Border effect in the last shot added with GIMP.

The colors are amazing! Happy WW!
