I can't believe another year has passed. Stranger still, another year has passed and I haven't aged, while everyone else around me has!
Speaking of which, today is my wife's birthday! I'm not going to say how old she is because, although I don't think she looks her age, I think we have reached the point where you just don't talk about that anymore. Ahem.
The amazing thing is that as I look back, I can logically pinpoint a time when I didn't know Dianne, but it doesn't seem to make any sense, because it seems like we've ALWAYS been in each other's lives. Last year, I mentioned how she is my best friend, and it is interesting to note that as I was thinking about what to write this year, the exact same thoughts came to my mind even before I reviewed last year's post.
We still do almost everything together, and hold 95-99% of the same interests. "Twilight" being the notable exception. In case you are wondering, it is DIANNE who likes Twilight while so far I've completely avoided it. In most areas, we are complementary to each other in that we have abilities or interests that combine in wonderful ways. For example, in the past year I swelled with pride as she received an "Arts for Life" award for acting in a musical that I played in the orchestra for! She's officially a star! Now, this summer, she will be presenting the award she received last year at the fabulous and star-studded "Arts for Life" award show downtown. We've also had the opportunity to perform together, just the two of us, for many occasions this year. How great is that?
Even after 16 years of marriage, I set the alarm early, just so I can get some extra time with her every day.
If I think back to when we were married, I know for certain that I love her more each year...which is saying something! I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else. She makes it all worthwhile.
Happy Birthday to my best friend and the love of my life!
